Keeping up with the trends: Soap Brows

Eyebrows have become our generation’s hottest facial feature. It is a feature that can entirely make or break your face. With that being said, they are routinely subjected to all sorts of experiments. Piercing, tinting, threading, laminating, you name it. Now with nostalgia being so in vogue, there is one such decade old trend that has reemerged and can be seen on the face of every other person you see on the street- natural thick brows. Or as the youngsters call it – Soap Brows. While most of us have spent the years tweezing our arches, this trend calls for taking a bar of soap (yes you heard it right) and amping up our bushy-ness with it.

What are soap brows?

Soap brows or otherwise seen as bushy feathery brows are intentionally created messy (yet glamorously shaped) brows. It is a style that gives the illusion of naturally fuller brows, as envied on celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Dua Lipa. What’s better, the procedure is ultra affordable and lasts longer than any and every eyebrow fixing gel you may have come across till now and I can bet on that. The look has its history in old Hollywood culture, with Brooke Shields being one of the original wearers back in the 80’s. However, upon its resurgence with soap, it has become a style anyone can rock in the matter of a few minutes, without needing an army of makeup tools.

 How to achieve the look?

All you will need is a spoolie brush and a bar of soap (ideally a transparent one). Start off  by wiping off any excess moisturizer or oil from your face. Make sure the surface is dry, as any moisturizer that comes in contact with the soap could alter its consistency and disrupt the adhesiveness. Next, dampen the spoolie with a little bit of water and rake it over your bar of soap a good number of times. Now all you need to do is brush it through your brows in an upward and outward motion. Voila! There you have it. Lush, eye catching eyebrows.
